Dakshinkali Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples inside the Kathmandu Valley. The word 'Dakshina' means a gift given to a priest before performing any ritual and the word 'Kali' means terror in religious meaning. So that it is believed that those who worship goddness Kali are supposed to overcome the death. It is also called 'Dakshinkali' because it lies in Dakshin (South) to the Kathmandu.
Located near to the Kathmandu City, it is one of the most visited Hindu temples in Nepal. Wednesday is supposed to be the day of the week when Goddness Kali is worshipped. Therefore, a huge crowd is seen at Dakshinkali temple during the Wednesday. However, there is also huge crowd of people when it is public holiday. Especially people from Kathmandu visit this amazing temple for the purpose of worship and refreshment.
Locating a little far from the crowded city ; Kathmandu, it is located at Natural place of Dakshinkali. Anyone from Kathmandu Valley can go on a tour to this place with the bus, bike or car, whatever possible. On the way to the Dakshinkali temple, we can see many small shops that offer varieties of goods to people. A basket full of materials to worship, organic pickles, religious materials, tools....etc... There are enough cafe, restaurant and hotel to serve people 24/7 hours. The way to the temple is too clean, well managed, and natural. Since it is a religious temple, so that many don't make waste at their. However, in order to control pollution at the temple area there are staffs appointed by the Management Board of the temple. Big respect to them , who make this temple clean and well managed everyday. ❤
Dakshinkali temple lies near to a flowing stream. It is a small stream but the water volume increases during monsoon. The stream near to the Dakshinkali temple increase the beauty of the temple.

Around 15 minutes of fresh walk can take you to another temple of Dakshinkali. Since it is locates at the height, so that we can enjoy some memorable scenes from that height. Some part of the Dakshinkali area can be easily seen from that height. So for those who just want to have some fresh scenes , Dakshinkali will never disappoint you.

In this place non Hindus cannot enter the building where the deity as Kali is located. Pictures can be taken from outside. Some people can also make a picnic spot in this place. Since this place is quite far away from the valley and there is less noise, crowd and other types of pollution. People can also be enjoying with friends and families in this place.
