Embarking on the Mardi Himal Trek from Pokhara is a thrilling journey that takes you to the stunning heights of approximately 4,200 meters above sea level. With its steep hills, precarious cliffs, and mesmerizing landscapes, this trek offers an exhilarating challenge for beginners seeking an unforgettable adventure. However, it's important to note that the high altitude comes with higher prices for food, adding another aspect to consider while planning your trek. While the Mardi Himal Trek is a must-do for adventure enthusiasts, it's worth noting that the trail can be physically demanding, especially for beginners. The route comprises steep slopes and risky cliffs that require a good level of fitness and mental preparation. However, with proper planning, pacing, and acclimatization, most hikers can conquer this challenging trek. It's advisable to engage the services of an experienced guide or join a guided tour to ensure safety and to make the most of your experience. The Mardi Himal Trek can be completed comfortably in four days from Pokhara. This relatively short duration makes it an ideal choice for those with limited time but a desire to experience the Himalayan beauty. The trek encompasses picturesque villages, terraced farmlands, and serene forests, providing a glimpse into the local way of life. Although it may seem like a short timeframe, the trek offers an unforgettable adventure that will leave you with...

Mardi View Point (4,200 m) is one of the easier trekking destinations in the Annapurna region and does not require specialized gear or equipment. The ascent typically takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on your hiking pace. Before starting the climb, it’s recommended to check the weather and carry hot water, snacks, warm clothes (appropriate to the season), and a pair of furry socks for comfort.

The best time to begin the trek is early in the morning, around 3:30 to 4:00 am, allowing you to witness the serene sunrise — an experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

If the weather is clear and you’re feeling fit, consider continuing up to the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 m). The additional climb takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Benefits of Going Up to Mardi Himal Base Camp

Closer view of Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail): From the base camp, you stand directly beneath the south face of Mardi Himal (5,587 m) and the majestic Machhapuchhre (6,993 m).

The peaks appear strikingly close and detailed, offering a breathtaking, immersive view — far more vivid than from the viewpoint.

Lastly, please avoid littering; do not throw wrappers or cans near the peak. Let’s help preserve the pristine beauty of Mardi Himal for...

This photo captures the raw, untouched beauty of Mardi Himal in a truly mesmerizing way. The layered mountain ranges in the background, fading into the soft mist, create a sense of endlessness—like nature stretching beyond the horizon. The golden sunlight reflects off the simple, rugged shelters, adding warmth to the high-altitude landscape. In the foreground, a lone figure stands near a wooden bench, perhaps lost in thought, blending seamlessly with the remote surroundings. The rough, stony paths, the scattered planks, and the barrels all tell a story of adventure, solitude, and resilience in the Himalayas. The rising smoke from the hut adds life to the scene, a reminder of the warmth inside these humble shelters despite the cold mountain air. This is not just a picture—it’s a feeling. A feeling of peace, freedom, and awe that only places like Mardi Himal can offer. Absolutely breathtaking!
