As a traveler who recently visited the Tarkeshwor Mahadev Temple located at Tarkeshwor, I can confidently say that this temple is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and spiritual significance of Nepal. While getting to the temple required a bit of effort, including a one-hour bike ride and a half-hour hike, it was well worth the journey. The natural beauty of the surrounding area is simply breathtaking, with lush green hills and crystal-clear streams providing a beautiful backdrop to the temple. Once we reached the top, the view was absolutely magical and magnificent. The panoramic vista of the surrounding landscape was truly awe-inspiring and provided a sense of serenity and peacefulness. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Tarkeshwor Mahadev Temple for anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable adventure. The beauty of the natural surroundings and the spiritual significance of the temple create a truly magical and memorable experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

A beautiful short hike. For those coming by bus, take the bus to Jitpurfedi bus stop and walk from there. There is a good parking spot for the bikers. From the parking spot, the hike takes about 30-45 mins. An extra half an hour for those comjng by bus. There's a baba atop the hill responsible for the daily religious pujas. The place itself holds a big religious significance as " Lord Shiva, who was carrying his dead wife Satidevi had come with her in the jungle and her right knee is believed to have been disintegrated here". So the number of visitors increase during Swasthani Brata month. Some notable features including the Shivalingas and Kunda(fountain) are yet to be completed. A great hike, especially during Summer as you don't get to see Sunlight for the most part which also reminds me of a caveat; return before dusk, there are a lot of wild animals, I myself saw a deer darting its way across. "Many people who went in never came back", the army dai said after I finished the trip. Don't be another one.

One of the sites I frequently visit is Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, particularly the Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple. During the rainy season, it becomes a truly remarkable experience as mushrooms 🍄 abound throughout the national park. This location offers some of the finest short hiking trails within the park, providing a delightful opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty of nature as well as spirituality.
