As florists with a passion for all things beautiful and blooming, our visit to the Aalsmeer Flower Auction in Amsterdam was an absolute dream come true! Words cannot fully express the awe-inspiring experience we had at this floral wonderland.

From the moment we stepped into the auction house, we were greeted with an overwhelming display of colors, scents, and sheer floral magnificence. The vastness of the auction was truly impressive, with seemingly endless rows of vibrant flowers and foliage, each waiting to find its way into someone's heart and home. As florists, we were particularly delighted by the wide assortment of unique and rare flowers from all corners of the globe. The availability of seasonal and specialty blooms allowed us to envision and create extraordinary arrangements for our clients back home. A visit to the Aalsmeer Flower Auction is not only a treat for professionals in the floral industry but also a delightful experience for flower enthusiasts and tourists alike. It's a place where nature's beauty and human creativity come together in perfect harmony.

We are truly grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime experience and cannot recommend the Royal Floral and Aalsmeer Flower Auction enough. Amsterdam is a city of wonders, and the Aalsmeer Flower Auction stands as a radiant gem in its crown. If you have a chance to visit, do not miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this...

We went on a Thursday which is a slower day. It’s open to tourists from 7-9 am. Other days it’s open 7-11 am for tourists. The building is over 1 km long and it’s the biggest building in the world. They mark it very clearly for tourists so if you drive there you will follows the signs for where to park and then there are very clear signs to guide you to the entrance. For 8 euros you gain entrance and follow the guided path that provides you a birds eye view of what’s happening on the warehouse floor. There is an app you can download and use along the path for more information. You walk to the end of the 1 km to see the auction room. By 8 am there was less than 20 people bidding. The auction moves very quickly and you just observe through a glass window. You wrap up with a little history Overall, unique thing to do and it would be an easy trip...

Hier waren tv schermen waarop filmpjes getoond werden. Helaas was hierbij het geluid niet aangesloten. Dit was men vergeten.....

If you like flowers and/or logistics, this is the place for you. The visitor experience is an elevated walk way in one of the buildings were the flowers are getting prepared to be sent out. The warehouse floor is very active and very visible from the walk way. At the end of the self guided tour, there are several green screen stations to take photos and video at no cost which is very nice. The physical floor auction room is no longer in service now that the auction has moved to virtual/electronic platform post-covid. Be sure to download the audio guide ahead of the visit. The "audio" guide is not really audio as the audio track only has background music. The content is in the text of the guide. The bus stop back to city center is right outside the visitor ticketing area.

Wow. What a find! We were staying in nearby Hoofdorp and had a free day before flying home. It was a short 30 minute cycle to the flower auction. There are also buses to get you there. Seeing how the flower auction operates was so interesting. The indoor facility is the size of 200 soccer pitches! Seeing and smelling all of the beautiful flowers was so great. Make sure to go first thing as it move fast and the flowers are quickly sent out (it opens very early and only for a few short hours a day). This was one of the highlights of our trip.
