TopParken - Resort Veluwe — Attraction in Barneveld

We stayed here for a week with our two children (5 & 7 years old), and we chose a cabin at the playground, which I can highly recommend for those with children. The playground is a sand and water playground, and is located in the front of the park, close to the other facilities, such as the swimming pools.|If you want more peace and quiet, try to book a cabin in the back of the park, as there are direct entrances to the nature reserve.||Food:|There is a restaurant at the park, but this is separate entity from the park, and has its own entry on TripAdvisor (see: Familierestaurant de Wildebras), so I will not rate that here.|There is also a snack bar on site, where you can purchase typical Dutch fried food (or, as I like to call it "Febo Food") for lower prices than the restaurant.|I am personally not a fan of this kind of food, but the rest of the family (who are Dutch) enjoyed it.||Entertainment:|We came a little too early in the season for the animation team to have fired up their engines. We had hoped for more entertainment for the kids, such as a mini disco, but unfortunately they seem to follow the local school's holiday schedule only. The last few days of our stay, they slowly started up with some creative activities for the children, as there were more children than expected. However, is wasn't well advertised, so not that many kids attended. The animation team caters mainly to a Dutch audience, but also to Germans.||If you are unlucky with the weather, do not despair, as there are many indoor activities. There is a large indoor playground above the restaurant, and also an arcade with air hockey and Fun Bowling.||Internet:|Type: Regular Wi-Fi with access point name and password. No hassle with logging in through a browser and timing out later.||Quality: The Wi-Fi quality is great in the house. Each house has it's own access point, and is not shared at other locations in the park.|There is also free Wi-Fi at the restaurant, but the quality if this is very poor. You'll be lucky to successfully open a website.|The cellular network around the park grounds is terrible and unreliable - at least when roaming.|So you are pretty much stuck at your house, if you want descent internet. However, when there, is work just fine.||Swimming:|The park has four swimming pools. Two outside and two inside. One of each is a baby pool, which we did not use, and the indoor one of these was closed off for the whole week of our stay.||TopParken advertises on their website that the outdoor pool is heated. Unfortunately this was not the case, and the only day of our stay, where we got lucky with the weather, we quickly got disappointed, jumping into the freezing cold water. So we were unable to enjoy the outside pool.|We did use the big indoor pool on a daily basis, which was really nice. The bottom could use a bit of cleaning around the corners, but it was good enough for us to enjoy.||Cabin and housekeeping:|The house is clean when you check in, and has all the necessary amenities to keep it like that: Dishwasher, Vacuum cleaner, Broom etc.|We had a combi oven, refrigerator (with a mini freezer in the top), coffee machine, water boiler, gas stove, enough plates, cups, glasses and cutlery for us all. A large shower with both a normal shower head, and a rain forest one as well.|Best of all: Everything is new!||When you first arrive, you might feel like there is nothing, and you go into panic mode due to the lack of toilet paper, soap etc. But fear not, check the welcome package you received at the reception when you checked in.||All in all, this was a great stay, and we would like to come back, despite a few minor issues. The value for the price we paid, was...

We stayed here for a week in a house for four persons. The house itself is small but cozy and comfortable. The kitchen had all the amenities that we could need. The furniture is new and in great condition.

My only gripe with the house is the lack of privacy when showering or using the toilet. There is no door dividing this area from the bedroom. Not nice if you need to share the room with a friend.

We had a house with a sauna and hot tub which were kept at great condition. After two days a man came over to refill the gas without us even asking.

We did love the privacy blinds not only for the bedrooms but out on the deck. Handy to keep mosquitos at bay.

The grounds are kept clean which is nice. They do seem to take quite some care of the surrounding nature.

The parking upon arrival and how to get in and out was slightly confusing. This definitely could have been made a bit more clear.

We attempted the restaurant on our first night but left because the service was just so bad 👎. We didn't even manage to order drinks even after sitting there waiting for over 15 minutes.

There is a cafeteria which has fast food. We did that instead. The pizza and snacks were fine. The only thing, on the website it said check the door for opening times, on the door was a blank piece of paper.

The outdoor pool has one slide which our kids absolutely loved. The only downside is the water is absolutely freezing cold. So we spent the rest of our stay in the indoor pool which is just a pool. They closed off the area for babies so that's something to consider if you have very small children. Another thing, there are no life guards at either pool. Not ideal in case of an emergency.

The game area was ok, not amazing. Also a bit of a mission trying to figure out how to get in. The door labeled as the entrance was locked so we had to go through the restaurant. Not the best. The mini arcade games were all broken. Reception was not much help when I was trying to figure things out. The bowling was fun, but 20 euros for a hour was a bit of a steep price considering it's baby bowling.

Be aware when arriving there are no shops on location, so you will need to drive to the nearest supermarket which is very close by.

All in all it's a lovely park, the kids loved it, everything is nice and clean. They could definitely work on their organisation skills here to make things...

Chalet Veluwehoeve:

Mooi en net vakantiepark wat duidelijk recent is aangelegd. Het meeste groen moet nog groeien wat de privacy ten goede gaat komen. Op het park staan twee verschillende soorten chalets; de Veluwehoeve en de Silva. Beide soorten hebben meerdere uitvoeringen en combinaties van aantal slaapplekken en voorzieningen zoals een sauna of hottub.

Wij verbleven in een Veluwehoeve voor 4 personen. Wat aan de buitenkant van beide chalets opvalt is dat de Veluwehoeve een luxere uitstraling heeft dan de Silva; geprofileerd hout en donkere kozijnen, rechte vormen en een overdekt terras met gestoffeerde loungeset. Bij de Silva’s is de buitenkant voornamelijk van kunsstof (nep - leisteen) en trespa. De tuinset oogt standaard en de Silva heeft alleen aan de kopse kant een overstek van het dak ipv een terras overkapping. Bij alle chalets staat een parasol.

Het overdekte terras van de Veluwehoeve kent dan ook weer meerdere uitvoeringen waar we tijdens het boeken niet op hadden gelet danwel dat we die optie niet hebben gekregen. Wij hadden een standaard uitvoering, overkapping van lamellen die elektrisch geopend kan worden en led strips rondom aan de binnenkant van het dak. Let wel, deze verlichting is niet voldoende om bv. een boek te lezen in het donker. Aan de buitenkant van het chalet, nog boven de vlonder zat een stopcontact welke gebruikt kan worden om bijvoorbeeld elektrisch te BBQ’en.

Bij andere chalets zijn de overkappingen voorzien van elektrische screens rondom en terras heaters. Die combi is zeker aan te raden aangezien daardoor het terras echt een verlengstuk van de toch wel kleine woonkamer vormt. Ons onbekend is of heater gratis is, aangezien er voor de aanwezige airco bijbetaald dient te worden. Let wel; OOK voor de vaste airco’s die te zien zijn in de foto’s van de accommodaties op de website. € 10,- per dag door de afstandbediening bij de receptie op te halen.

Het chalet de Veluwehoeve voor 4 personen met als indeling aan beide kanten twee slaapkamers met badkamer is modern en redelijk ruim van opzet met veel kastruimte, maar daardoor is de woonkamer dan weer aan aan de krappe kant. De bank staat tegen de eettafel aan om de woonkamer wat groter te laten lijken. Inventaris keuken was aan de magere kant, 6 besteksets is niet heel handig voor vier personen waardoor je alsnog moet afwassen tussen de lunch en avondeten. Alle drie de ruimtes zijn voorzien van vloerverwarming die per ruimte te regelen is.

De ensuite badkamers zijn ook voorzien van toilet, er is geen apart toilet. Dus ligt je partner uit te slapen en de ander heeft zo zijn ochtend ritueel, welja vul zelf maar in :-)

De badkamers met toilet zijn voorzien van hoge draaikiepramen. Die zijn dan wel aan de kant van de ‘buren’ hun terras. Zit je op de veranda, kun je horen en soms zelfs ruiken wat de buren in hun badkamer aan het doen zijn.

Diezelfde ramen zijn weliswaar geblindeerd met folie, er zit geen verduisterend gordijn voor. Daglicht komt zo direct de slaapkamer in waardoor je bij veel chalets er een strandlaken voor ziet hangen aan de binnenkant. Ongetwijfeld gaat dit tot slijtage leiden aan de draaikiep systemen waardoor er in de toekomst problemen met deze ramen verwacht kunnen worden. Hang je zelf ook een handdoek of laken op? Let dan op dat je echt alleen een dun randje stof tussen het raam en het kozijn vouwt anders heb je door het sluitsysteem gaten in de stof.

Dit lijkt een klaagzang op het chalet maar we zouden ongetwijfeld zo weer boeken! Het is alleen wel fijn als je van te voren een aantal dingen weet / jezelf realiseert en dat sommige puntjes verbeterd zouden kunnen worden zoals meer bestek, verduistering van de slaapkamer en...
