Best place to park is at the Parnassia San zee restaurant at park ( if you visit the restaurant after you walk, make sure you have a credit card, no cash payments). Select one of the marked routes (se followed the green route) which took us away from the coast and into the sand dunes out into wild countryside pass a lake (good for bird watching). Through some wet lands and back to the car park. Payment is again by credit card.😎

My favourite national park within the Netherlands, been here countless of times and it never gets old! The mix of dunes and small patches of forests, and the many animals you can find here make for an amazing place to visit for any nature enjoyer. Many great hikes can be made in this park, all the way to the sea. There is also a special hut for birdwatchers, although be warned, if the water is too high the hut is inaccessible.

Beautiful national park, easily accessible by public transport too. Catch a train to Santpoort-Noord station, the entrance of the park is just a 10 minuten walk. The park itself has many different walking routes, there's also roads suited for cycling or mountain biking. A great walk is to walk trough the park and finish with a beach walk to Bloemendaal aan Zee or even Zandvoort (an extra 30 minutes on the beach).

This national park makes a nice change of pace from the urban sights that made up most of the rest of my holiday. I hired a bicycle and spent the afternoon cycling between Ijmuiden and Zandvoort. The lumpy dune terrain makes for a relatively strenuous ride compared to the general flatness of this part of the world, but the cycle routes are (of course) in excellent condition. There's a variety of landscapes to see including woodland, dunes, marshes and lakes and animals including highland cattle, horses, deer, butterflies and...
