This is one of my most favorite national parks in the Netherlands. They have not only sand duin, lakes, but also beach and forest. Arriving here you will immediately recognize the fresh clean ocean breeze and the variety of plants and landscaping in one area.
There are a lot of playgrounds for children at different ages. You can also swim at the lake or simply play at the beach.
There are different routes for bicycles and hikers. The roads for bicycles are very nice. The hiking routes are also fabulous to enjoy the bird sound and different nature sceneries.
The sign system is kept very well so that you cannot get lost in the nature.
The visitor center is connecting with the restaurant and cafeteria. There you can use clean toilets, also for small babies. The Terrace is facing a big playground for small children giving the parents peace in mind where they can seat enjoying a cup of tea while watching the children playing.
If you want to cycle, you can rent a bicycle here as well.
The combination of everything makes us to decide coming back here for another visit.

Read moreBeautiful views. You can feel very disconnected from the hustle and bustle of city life here, and very connected to nature. Very large place with various marked walking, cycling, bridle paths. If you're lucky you may see some lovely cattle. Can swim in and relax by the lake, explore the sand dunes, walk through the trees, climb up to a lookout and see all the way to the ocean. My favourite place in the Netherlands so far. And only 20 mins on bus from Haarlem station. Wear good shoes, although there is a path throughout it is uneven in some places. On hot days sun cream and water is a must as the wide open areas can feel like a desert. There is a visitor centre and a children's play area at the entrance. Good for birdwatching. Some parts come close to Bloemendaal beach and a...

When we parked at Zuid Kennemerland, I was a bit concerned we’d be surrounded by toute-bakfiets Amsterdam zuid for our entire visit.
However, as soon as you leave the cafe and playground behind it actually becomes possible to find some hikes and paths unspoiled by that distinct air of l-own-a-Volvo-xc90 and ski-in-Austria-twice-a-year they characterized the general populace visiting this national park.
I would recommend coming early because on a nice day, you’ll hit traffic at any point after 11.30
Keen but also terrified of visiting in summer to swim —-as I can imagine it’s very busy. There were various running and dipping clubs and even a silent disco club, so it has a high “yoga-snuiver-gehalte”...
