This area is absolutely gorgeous, the views from the top of the steps are incredible, the water is so many incredible shades of pretty blues, and if you look close from the top you can spot big blue fish which clean and eat off the coral and reef below! Be prepared if you go down that the only way back up is via the steps as well- you need to be in at least decent shape, or willing to stop and catch your breathe etc. Perfect snorkeling or diving if you're into that. Lots of cool plants and vegetation above as well such as agave plants, aloe, cotton, wild sage, cactus, etc. Plenty of colorful beautiful birds, and more to see at this amazing spot. Would love to come back and spend more time...
Read moreOne of the rare beaches that has a partially sandy entrance and decent coral. Partially protected area so might be a better place to snorkel if the wind is up. Healthy coral is deeper, probably 10-15 feet, including sea plumes, fire, large fields of elkhorn, brain, pencil, mustard etc. Nice schools of brown and blue chromis, parrotfish, yellowtail snappers. Also saw three tarpon day I was there. Has 67 steps down to a sandy beach that works for sandbathing or no shoe entrance. There's a very small parking lot that fills up quickly. No facilities. As noted, once you go past this site the...

You will see a yellow rock with "1000 steps" written on it which is how they mark diving and snorkeling spots around the island.
Go down the steps and they have a "beach." Not really sandy but you can chill there. We went there to snorkel and were so happy. Here is my tip. If you go a little outside the beach area either right or left you may see turtles eating the algae on the rocks. They were not in the main beach area. We saw 8 turtles. Wow! It made our day. Well...
