Andrea I is the dive site that is closest to my house. I snorkel there often and have done many scuba dives there as well. As with most of Bonaire, the reef is beautiful.

There is a small parking lot at the end of a narrow road. As with any dive site, do not leave anything valuable in your car when you dive.

As with many dive sites on Bonaire, the shore entry is somewhat rocky. The entry is marked with an "Andrea I" dive marker. Enter to the left of the marker. When you exit, stay to the left of the large brain coral and go in until the water is waist deep and take your fins off. You will definitely need booties for this site.

When scuba diving, I recommend going to the left. To the right is Andrea II, which is not as nice a dive, with more of a sand bank and less coral.

The reef starts at about 30 feet. I generally dive around 40-50 feet at Andrea I. Depending on how lucky you are, you can see a variety of marine life, including tarpon, turtles...

(ONE OF) THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SPOT ON BONAIRE FOR SNORKELING (AND SHALLOW DIVING).

After 1000 Steps, Salt Pier, Bari Reef/Chogogo and Donkey beach we ended up snorkeling here. And in our opinion this is the most beautiful spot of all. It is very accessible. Walk up to the big yellow stone to enter (don't enter elsewhere since the coral reef is really close to to coast and you will damage it) and swim around the superficial reef to the right You can't swim over the reef since it is so close to the surface. We saw many turtles, huge parrot fishes, octopus and many other awesome fish, we even returned for another snorkeling session. The second time we swam really far almost to Andrea II, but we recommend you to do this only if you are a good swimmer and familiair and comfortable with snorkeling for about an...

Perfect dive. Reef is very close to coast. Easy entry. No current; online it says strong currents but went with somebody that has Dove it plenty of times and has never experienced strong currents their. A lot of unique shaped Coral. Seen one the shape of a chair. Also one the shape of a half of human. Love the mix of hard and soft Coral. No pelagics. Visit. Was above average but not 100 meters. Dove at appx. 23 meters but could easily start @ 33+ (100 ft). You can dive 15 meters and have a perfect dive with only reef and no...

One of the best snorkeling locations on Bonaire. Easy entry, healthy coral. Together with Andrea II and Karpata (can he more difficult to enter if windy), Andrea I is in our top 3 snorkel locations on the island.
