Fort Beekenburg is a fascinating historical site and a must-visit for anyone interested in Curacao's history and it is free. Built in the 18th century to defend against pirates and other invaders, the fort has been beautifully preserved and offers a glimpse into the past. There is no info there at the location but you can google it. The structure is impressive, with thick stone walls and old cannons that give a real sense of its past importance.

The fort is located on a hill overlooking Caracas Bay, providing fantastic views of the water and surrounding landscapes. The hike up is fairly short, and the views from the top are worth the effort. You can explore different levels of the fort, with lots of spots to take unique photos and enjoy the scenery.

There aren’t many amenities here, so bring water and good walking shoes. It’s an uncrowded spot, making it perfect for those looking for a quieter and more authentic experience. Fort Beekenburg is definitely worth a stop if you're exploring Curacao and want a taste of its history and...

It is a nice little forest on top of a rock formation on the water. There are some canons, ramparts, inner walls and a tower.

You can walk up stairs to the first tower level and a latter to get to the top which gives you amazing views of the area.

There is an oil rig and an oil drilling boat directly off the short close to the fort that are actively drilling. It takes away from the views on that side, however, we thought is was pretty neat to see those things up close.

There is a small rock climbing area across the streets and a few picnic tables in the fort.

It is not good for people with mobile problems as you need to go up steps with no railings to get in. The ground is rocky and uneven and there are stairs and a latter to get...

Fort Beekenburg is a historical Fort in the Area of Caracasbaai. A nice old piece of history of the Curacao island. I have my daily workout walks in that area on and lately I added climbing the stairs of the Fort as part of my workplan. During this work out I discovered the beautiful view you can admire of the whole area when reaching the top of the Fort. The nice blue water of the Caracasbaai beach, the nature that surround that area, the great beautiful houses with those spectacular views and Tafelberg. It is an incredible view and a place you must visit. It is a relax area to let your mind shut down to silence and...
