Geestmerambacht (management office) — Attraction in Dijk en Waard

During the summer this place is idyllic. There is a big lake where people can swim. The lake is surrounded with grass fields to play games like soccer or frisbee.

Because most people bring their own food and drinks, there can be some garbage where people camp out. This is a little bit dissappointing, because there is a garbage can every 20 meters... Clean up after yourself people!! Luckily, the garbage is cleaned at the end of the day by a cleaning crew.

There are a couple of small beaches where people can take a swim. At the middle of the lake is a small platform where people can dive off from. Be aware that the lake can be 40 meters deep at it's lowest point, and it can be dangerous to take the swim to the platform alone. Always swim with at least another person.

Furthermore there is one restaurant and around the lake are some playgrounds for the kids. Outside of the swimming area's it's allowed to go fishing if you have the proper licensing. Around the lake is a small forest with paths to go hiking or ride your bike.

Finally I would like to say it's a great place for the sporty type, but it's also a nice place for people to just hang...

The mountainbiking trail is lots of fun. very simple stuff where even the easiest jumps and hops are skippable, brakes very required when muddy because of tight unexpected corners that become very slippery. Great fun...
