Country Residence Museum Jachthuis Sint Hubertus — Attraction in Ede

The building is stunning, the setting is amazing, the story is compelling.

But...you only get to see 5 rooms, all on the main floor. It's a comprehensive ~1 hour tour (in Dutch) for what you see, but it's disappointing that more of the building isn't accessible, especially given it's only shown by guided tour anyway.

For non-dutch speakers, we were given an audio tour device (included with your price). Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable.

Be aware you will not access the tower, bedrooms, anything upstairs, basement, kitchens, etc.

You can explore the grounds before or after (free all year) and there is a small cafe on-site.

Parking is a 5 minute walk down the road.

The tour would be accessible, I'm not sure if they allow...

The Kroller-Muller family hunting house. Several excursions are possible in and around the house. It's located in a nice location with a lake and the possibility to walk around. There is a small cafe where you can get a coffee and baked goods. Keep in mind that you need a ticket to the Hoge Veluwe nature preserve to reach Sint Hubertus, and you need to book the excursion in advance. The only way to buy a ticket on site is with your mobile phone is the next excursion...

Het  Jachthuis Sint Hubertus, het voormalige buitenverblijf van het echtpaar Kröller-Müller, is één van de meest iconische gebouwen van Nederland. Het Jachthuis is geïnspireerd op het Engelse country house. Voorbeelden van kenmerken die daar op wijzen zijn de speciale vertrekken voor ieder gezinslid, net als de bibliotheek, rookkamer, boudoirs en de biljartkamer. Hetzelfde geldt voor de v-vorm van het gebouw. De karakteristieke toren van het Jachthuis past niet bij het genre van het Engelse Country House. Het is vooral een kenmerk van veel van Berlages gebouwen. De toren hoort ook bij de wens van het echtpaar Kröller-Müller om een weids uitzicht over de omgeving te hebben. De bouw van Jachthuis Sint Hubertus werd voltooid in 1920. Het echtpaar gebruikte het Jachthuis vanaf dat moment vooral als buitenverblijf. Pas in de laatste fase van hun leven woonden zij er permanent. Met de grote plas voor de deur geeft het een prachtig plaatje. De stalen constructies en hek zijn van grote schoonheid en in de tuin kan je op dit moment een drankje doen of een hapje.... je kan dan zitten op de bankjes en kijken over de geweldige plas. Voor €6,00 kunt u een rondleiding (op tijden, dus koop dit van te voren) krijgen in het Jachthuis, dat door zijn vorm, indeling en bouw in binnen en buitenland groot...
