Stayed overnight at this lovely camper stop, in a beautiful area of rural Holland, it's a wine and asparagus producer with vineyards to tour plus farmshop and other activities available. A Citroën 2cv tour operates from there so you can self drive a 2cv around the area, taking in other interesting places. Having a father who served in the RAF 138sqn in WW2 for the SOE, dropping and supplying resistance agents in occupied Europe and also at the end of the war dropped food packages over Holland and Belgium to the starving population, we did a 40min walk to a memorial in the ruins were 17 or so local resistance agents and family were massacred by the SS. Barely 2 weeks away from being liberated by the allied forces. A sad somber reminder but if we don't remember we will again repeat such atrocities. We would definitely stay here again but for 2...
Read moreThis place is freaking adorable. We found it through google maps, as a stop to make trying to avoid traffic we were scheduled to hit if we went straight to Antwerpen. What a gem that was not far of the main road! We had the asparagus soup and bread for lunch, which was excellent. The little shop has an assortment of preserves, cheese, asparagus beer, lots of wines. Its is totally worth checking out. They said we could taste any of the wines, but they were super affordable so we just bought a bunch to take...
