Museum Panorama Walcheren — Attraction in Flushing

This is a grand stop! The artist, Jo Dumon Tak, is really interesting and has done some incredible panoramas. A properly done panoramic painting is a huge undertaking: requiring complex perspective calculations. If it is done right, the viewer is not simply looking at a painting--instead you are INSIDE the painting. Dumon Tak's use of color and light make the panorama experience very realistic. One of the pieces places you inside a brilliantly green forest. Another puts your feet on a wet, sandy beach. Each is displayed individually, with no distractions. This enhances the experience enormously. In addition to quite a few panoramas, Dumok Tak shows the work of his students and various smaller works he has completed. A wonderful chance to have a view over the Walcheren area via panoramic paintings. They are very impressive, there is plenty of information on the paintings. The volunteers are excellent! Very friendly...
