Great, clean & fun layout zoo & playpark. Glad we spent our family time here. Great foods & drinks. Got few benches & tables with/without sunshade.
Great weather from May till summer, but do expect some rainy & cloudy day. Free & clean toilets. Various play equipment including the giant slide & mega trampoline.
Affordable ticket price but the only reason it didn't get a 5 star is because the zoo is inaccessible via public transport even though it is located next to the Helmond Brandevoort railway link. I know that it has a large paid parking area for personal transport & bicycle, but please consider other visitors who might contribute in spreading the good word of this remarkable Dierenrijk wildlife park.
Bus 206 Nuenen De Hoofkes was out of service on that day so we had to walk for 30~40min from Helmond Brandevoort train station to Dierenrijk. The distance from the bus stop also take about 30min on foot. If you want to improve visitors experience as well as tickets sales & profit, it would be great if Helmond's Mayor could negotiate on having an extra or new route for bus 206 to shorten the distance..at least to 10min on foot from the zoo.
They have done a good job on making this park go viral on social media but they still need to improve the accessibility of public transport. We need to go green, rely less on personal vehicles and support Dutch's public...
Read moreThis modest Zoo Eindhoven is quite a pleasant experience. Originally it aimed at showing European wildlife, but that concept has long been abandoned. It now has Siberian tigers, African lions, polar bears, rhinos, Indian elephants and a surprisingly impressive chimpanzee group. The occasional wild boar reminds you of the zoo's initial origins. The meandering, shadowy paths give you the experience that there's much to discover. Animal enclosures are reasonably large and generally support some natural animal behavior, which means that you need patience (or a revisit) to spot every species. Catering facilities are very much up to standard and they are reasonably priced. On offer is the regular Dutch zoo menu. If you buy your ticket at the gate, the €24.50 entry seems to me overpriced. Buy your ticket one week ahead online, and the €17.50 is a fair price for what you get. Take notice that there is a €7.50 parking fee as well. Doubling your entrance fee means that you have a year's access. Tripling it means that you have a year's access to Zoo Overloon as well. Check out...
Read moreGood afternoon. I wanted to contact the Owners, there are several points that should be corrected to improve the visit: the first is to install a sign (a small photo or advertisement) at the entrance to the fish in the pool (Gara), if I'm not mistaken, it is number 52 on the map. Many visitors simply pass by this door (considering it just a technical structure). There is a very interesting location. There is also one objection to the mixing of raccoons and skunks. Raccoons need better conditions (the smell that skunks give off is simply terrible). Move the raccoons to a better place - it will be better for themselves and for visitors who want to admire the raccoons. A good example of a location with raccoons is in the Pairi Daiza Zoo in Belgium. Also, Canadian Beavers sit in an aquarium* - a sunny site. Beavers are beautiful, large, but they don't have enough space and sunlight*. We will be glad if the Owner takes this...
