I recently tried out the old bunker hiking route, and honestly, it left me a bit underwhelmed. While the concept of exploring a trail with historical significance is intriguing, the experience was less than ideal.
First off, the trail is not well-maintained. If it has rained even a day or two before your visit, expect a muddy mess. The path quickly becomes slippery and uneven, making it more of a struggle than an enjoyable hike. Proper hiking shoes are an absolute must, but even with them, navigating the trail can feel like a chore.
As for the bunker itself, it’s interesting from a historical perspective, but there’s not much to see. The interior is damp and dark, with little signage or explanation about its history, leaving you to guess what you’re looking at. It might appeal to someone deeply interested in bunkers or military history, but casual hikers won’t find it particularly engaging.
On the plus side, the area is quiet, so it could be a good spot for those seeking solitude. But overall, the lack of upkeep and the muddy conditions make it a route I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re really curious about the bunker or prepared for a messy adventure. There are better hiking options nearby for a more pleasant and...
