Stichting Oorlog in de Peel — Attraction in Horst aan de Maas

Bin here a few times recently. First alone on a late night Wednesday. I pretty much got a private tour! It was amazing they have so much that most big musuems dont. Mind you this one isn’t small but still. And after every item they know the story. Lots of history to be learned from the people working there.

There collecting from candy to guns to clothing to plane parts they have some of it all truly fascinating!

They also held an event on the 18th of june. It was so much fun and again talked to the owners they are so friendly and even remember there customers.

Me and my grandpa donated a 50cal and they put it on display. Its very kind and we are very happy!

Visited The museum After it was closed when I wanted to visit in 2022. It was worth The waiting time because The owners took their time to show us The while collection. We got all the personal stories related to the items displayed. Whenever our holiday is held nearby again, we will definately visit this collection once more 👍

The only thing missing is display texts in english, but no problem with todays technology and the owners telling the small stories.

All in all a great museum that is a lot bigger...

27-04-2025 Dit museum is een parel! We werden allereerst bijzonder vriendelijk welkom geheten door de vrijwilligster aan de kassa. Daarna kregen we een persoonlijke rondleiding door de hele collectie. Alles werd met veel enthousiasme en kennis van zaken toegelicht. Wat een passie bij deze vrijwilligers ! Werkelijk een schitterende en zeldzame verzameling van authentiek materiaal. Alle items zijn met veel zorg samengesteld en tentoongesteld. Overal keurige bordjes met toelichting. We hebben bijzonder genoten van de ontroerende verhalen achter sommige voorwerpen. Dit museum is absoluut een aanrader. We komen graag nog eens terug.
