Fort Honswijk is a lovely, small historical outpost along what is called the Hollands Waterlinie.It does feature a beautiful lookout point over the Lek and 'T Wall rivers and a walking path around the fort that takes maybe 15 minutes total. On Sundays a guided tour of the inner chambers of the Fort are offered. And there is a small snack bar & facilities for visitors & resident artists. Parking is down the hill about 5 minutes walk from the tourist entrance. The site is not exactly wheelchair friendly & kids may be bored easily as there is little to distract..although there is a ( young) kid's path where they can find little "prizes"...

Our group ( 4 people ) does not speak Dutch, but nonetheless we had an excelent tour with really Dutch gentleman, who really knew what is he talking about and was maximally ready to show us all the secrets of this really big piece of military architecture. The group of people, who are taking care about the fort are really doing great job ! The tours have to be booked before and they are not every day, be aware of that. But really - it´s WORTH IT.
