Oostvaardersplassen — Attraction in Lelystad

As a Lelystad resident, the shameful starvation of the animals inside the OVP takes place almost in my backyard. And as a Dutch citizen, I am fed up with this and have tried to get authorities to stop this.As a singer/ songwriter, I have for years and years tried to get attention and create awareness for this by busking my songs about this on streets, squares, on various manifestations/protests and diverse other stages. I'm happy to finally see likeminded souls coming together to stand up for this cause, and giving voice to the voiceless animals that had to suffer too much for much too long already. Thank you all for caring and spreading the awareness that this must be stopped, and hope that this will lead to a corridor for the wildlife to roam as free as they can possibly can. Staatsbosbeheer (stateforrestery-management) has for years been killing these poor animalsby either stavation or shooting, and for that have very bad aiming, they cant even shoot to kill to end poor and long suffering starvated animals t,hey are so terrible at caring for their lifestock because its nothing more then a closed of park. Staatsbosbeheer, is nothing more then an animal abusive operation, and shouldbe stopped for the atrosities they have caused for over many decades. This is an unique place. It embodies one of the greatest examples of how a nature-loving animal-caring country can be completely blind. This park is an abomination in terms of animal welfare and wildlife conservation / management. The park consists of 59 square kilometres fenced terrain. There are no top predators, and due to the fences there is no possibility for the big herds to migrate. Studies have shown this terrain to be capable to sustain a population of some 1500 big hoofed animals like horses, but by lack of controlling elements such as predators, there currently reside over 8500 -!- big hoofed animals. This is a recipe for disaster, and during winter times thousends of animals die from starvation, illness, or general declining health. People are being forbidden to feed the hungry animals behind the fences, and forresters patrol the area to make sure noone does... All in the misconseption that starving a surplus of animals which have been manually introduced in a fenced terrain is a natural process. Wenn Menschen ein Biotop erschaffen wollen haben Sie sich an Naturgesetze zu halten.Ein eingezäuntes Gelände was grossen Grasfressern(Rinder, Pferde,Hirsche)zur Verfügung gestellt wird ist nichts anderes als das,was landwirtschaftlichen Nutztieren in extensiver Haltung, zur Verfügung gestellt wird.Bei unseren, sehr trockenen Sommern,sind das 1 bis 2 Hektar(20.000 Quadratmeter/Tier) die verhindern das die Grasnarbe durch Überweidung zerstört wird.Weiterhin hat der Mensch als Beutegreifer einzugreifen,da natürliche Feinde der grossen Grasfressern (Bär,Wolf,Luchs etc. )fehlen und um Tierleid(Krankheit)zu verhindern.Männliche Tiere ,die durch Abwanderung ohne Einzäunung,Inzucht in ihren Herden vermeiden würden müssen vom Menschen den Herden ,entweder durch Abschuss oder besser durch Einfangen & Versteigern,entnommen werden.Männliche Zuchttiere müssen alle 2 Jahre entnommen und durch frisches Blut ersetzt werden um die Genvielfalt zu erhalten.Das dadurch erwirtschaftete Geld kann dann den Tieren in harten Wintern in Form von Heu & Stroh zugeführt werden.In anderen naturnahen Reservaten(z.B.Dülmener Wildbahn/Herzog von Croy) ist dies ja auch tiergerecht möglich.Jährlicher Junghengstefang im Mai mit Versteigerung.Gleichzeitig Werbung für die Region mit Einnahmen durch den Verkauf der Eintrittskarten für die Fangaktion durch Bauernjungen der Region .Die Förster bzw. Ranger sind auch für die Entsorgung der Tierkadaver(alte Stuten,Totgeburten etc.)verantwortlich,da es ja nicht genug Aasfresser(Bär,Fuchs,Geier etc.)gibt,um Seuchen zu verhindern.Wenn man dies alles im Rahmen des Tierschutzes nicht als Betreiber einer solchen Anlage unternimmt muss ich diesem eine mangelnde Hirnleistung ,des eigentlich vernunftbegabten Wesens "Mensch" unterstellen und dies als öffentlich zur Schau gestellten Grossversuch von Tierleid,ankreiden.Hoffen wir auf weitere Proteste vernünftiger Menschen gegen diese Art der Tierquälerei und der Einsicht der Betreiber gegen ihr zu wenig...
