BillyBird Hemelrijk is a fantastic and fun park with a wide range of activities for kids. It features many outdoor attractions, a large indoor playground, and a big sandy beach along the lake. The entry price is absolutely worth it, but if you plan to visit more than a couple of times, the annual pass is a great deal. It even comes with discounts for many other places, which adds extra value.
You can rent pedal boats on the lake, and there’s an inflatable aqua obstacle course available for a fee (reservation required). The food is exactly what you'd expect from this type of park (fries, snacks, sandwiches, salads) but it's actually better quality than in most similar places. There’s a restaurant inside the indoor playground and another at the entrance with a different menu.
Outdoor attractions are impressively varied: swings, climbing structures, a small roller coaster, bumper cars, carousels, a boat waterslide, a gold river, and more. The park is open all year round, and the indoor playground means you can still enjoy your visit even in poor weather. It can get busy on sunny summer days, but the space is large enough that it rarely feels overcrowded, and they open extra parking when needed.
They also host themed events throughout the year, like dinosaur weeks or Halloween celebrations. The staff is always friendly, and we’ve never had a bad experience. Overall, a truly awesome place for kids, ours are always excited for...
Read moreWe went to the park as a family of three, including our 4-year and 5-month-old child. We were excited to ride the roller coaster, but encountered a few challenges. Initially, we hesitated because our child's height was about 107 cm, just shy of the required minimum of 110 cm. However, we noticed that the people ahead of us had children of the same height who were allowed to ride. This gave us hope that we could also enjoy the ride together.
We patiently waited in the queue for over an hour, expecting our turn to come soon. However, when a new staff member took over, they started allowing only certain people with kids to ride. Unfortunately, when our turn finally arrived, we were denied entry. Confused and concerned, we asked the staff member for an explanation. They informed us that our child was slightly shorter than the minimum height requirement. However, we couldn't help but notice that a few kids who were even shorter than 110 cm were allowed to ride.
This inconsistency left us feeling worried. We understand that our child measures 107 cm, just a few centimeters below the limit. But if they are not allowed to ride, shouldn't the same rule apply to everyone? Our child was deeply disappointed as he was expecting to joy the ride. Finally, we have made the decision not to visit the park again. I hope it will not happen again for another family in the future, if they regulate...
Read moreExtremely dangerous place — your child could be killed here!
My son was violently attacked by three boys on the trampolines. According to a Dutch child who witnessed the incident, my son was jumping when he was pushed, fell, and was then brutally beaten — in the face, stomach, and other parts of his body. After that, they started choking him. Older kids eventually stepped in and stopped it.
When we came to confront the staff, it became clear that the attackers were part of a group of children who knew each other. The response we got was horrifying: they said that during jumping, my son and his friend may have accidentally bumped into someone, and that was apparently reason enough for him to be nearly killed.
The on-site security told us, “No one hits for no reason — he got what he deserved.” Parents of the attackers seemed to agree.
I called the head of security. My son was bleeding from his mouth and deeply traumatized. The head of security responded in a similar way — claiming they couldn’t help. There are no cameras, no supervisors, no real security.
This is an extremely dangerous place where children can be seriously harmed — and the facility’s response is to blame the victim.
Do not take your children here. Their safety is not protected, and the staff will not support you if...
