Dé kerk van Oldenzaal op de plek waar het lang geleden begon. Eerst in het Palthehuis de geschiedenis van stad en kerk bekeken, daarna hier geweest. Betrokken vrijwilligers die alles en nog meer kunnen vertellen. Infoblad gidst je langs de vele en verschillende hoogtepunten.

De Plechelmus Basiliek, van buiten een grote grijze kolos. Daarom mijn tip. Bezoek deze kerk een keer als het mooi weer is en geniet van de mooie kleuren, de fijne sfeer en de voelbare stilte. Als echte Boeskool kan ik een bezoek van harte aanbevelen.

Naast deze basiliek zou de offersteen van Tanfana hebben gelegen. Deze ligt nu op de Groote Markt. Deze steen zou oorspronkelijk op de helling van de Tankenberg hebben gelegen voordat de Burgemeester van Oldenzaal deze heeft laten verplaatsen in 1642.

The Basilica of St Plechelmus is a Catholic church in the Dutch town of Oldenzaal dedicated to the 8th-century Irish monk Plechelm, whose festival on 15 July has been on the calendar of the medieval diocese of Utrecht ever since his canonisation in the 10th century.
