We had an amazing time at Rancho Loco. All of the staff and the owner were wonderful. The ranch manager picked us up at our hotel and brought us to the ranch while pointing out areas of interest along the drive. Once at the ranch, our family of 4 (two adults and two girls 11 and 9) were paired with horses. Our daughters were only on a horse once before and that was on a lead. The girls are fitted with helmets and the ranch provided us with bottles of water. As we were preparing to get underway, our 9 year old became very nervous due to be so high off the ground and the tears started. The ranch manager, I believe her name is Christina, came over and spent time speaking with our daughter, reassuring her, letting her know what to expect, and before long the nerves and the tears ceased. We left the coral and traveled a few roads before entering the national park. The horses are very well trained and gentle. They pretty much played follow-the-leader during the whole trip. This was a neat way to explore a part of Aruba on the island opposite the high rise hotel district. Everyone enjoyed the activity and will be talking about it for quite some time. Again, my wife and I were very impressed with how cordial all of the staff were at...
Read morePLEASE DO NOT RIDE HORSES AT RANCHO LOCO for you and your family's SAFETY! These are casual horse owners with untrained horses that are extremely dangerous. If you are interested in hearing my experience, please read on.
I went to ride horses here on 1/3/2022 with my boyfriend. One of the horses towards the back of the line began to go crazy and threw an older lady off of her horse (she broke her wrist and was taken to the hospital). Her horse ran wild past all of the other horses, causing them all to run wild. Another woman fell off of her horse and has a hip injury. My horse was running full speed over extremely rocky terrain. The horses were jumping over rocks and were unresponsive to attempts to pull on the reigns and stop them. The instructors demonstrated absolutely no ability to control the horses and did not offer to give us our money back.
Please understand that falling off of a horse can cause paralysis. In rocky terrain such as the trail at Rancho Loco, falling off of a horse can easily result in death.
There are other guided tours available to take you to the Natural Pool that are not as dangerous. There is a Jeep tour available as well as an ATV tour where you can experience off-roading and see the same...
Read moreThis was probably the best experience I’ve had im Aruba. It was one of the last things we did before we left but it was amazing. We have been wanting to go to the natural pool but didn’t want a jeep or a utv so we went with the horse back riding. They pair you with a horse that they feel best suits your personality and you bond with said horse which was amazing. My horse was adria and I felt the bond with her immediately. She’s young, as am I, and loved to trot around and was very playful. I had complete trust in her as we were walking the rocky terrains. When we finally got to the natural pool, the sights were beyond beautiful. There were so many colorful fish (so bring snorkeling gear!) and it was overall amazing to see the waves crash into rocks and sweep over you gently. I highly recommend going on this tour. The tour guides were amazing and friendly and helped you feel out and understand your horse because it can definitely be a little nerve wracking at first. But sooo worth it when you get...
