Maasvlaktestrand is a hidden gem for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty away from the bustling city. Located approximately 45 minutes by car from Rotterdam, this expansive 7-kilometer beach offers a serene escape with its wide sandy shores and panoramic views of the North Sea. The beach is popular among kite surfers, sunbathers, and nature enthusiasts. It’s also dog-friendly, allowing leashed pets year-round, and features a designated 500-meter section for nude recreation near the northernmost beach access point .

Accessibility is convenient, with three spacious, free parking areas available. During the summer months, seasonal food and drink kiosks operate near parking areas P1 and P3, providing refreshments for visitors .

However, one notable drawback is the lack of permanent toilet facilities. Visitors should plan accordingly, as this can be inconvenient, especially for families with young children or during extended stays. Bringing your own necessities or limiting the duration of your visit might be advisable.

Despite this, the beach’s unspoiled environment, absence of commercial establishments, and the presence of the striking “Zandwacht” art installation make it a unique destination . Whether you’re looking to unwind, engage in water sports, or simply enjoy a peaceful day by the sea, Maasvlaktestrand offers a refreshing alternative to more crowded beaches.

Overall, Maasvlaktestrand is a wonderful spot for those seeking a quiet and natural beach experience. Just remember to come prepared, especially regarding...

Went in July 2020 and it was nearly empty, huge sandy beach, many pools as tide goes down, very practical with kids as shallow water in those pools. Windy (located under wind turbines). Definitely muslim friendly. Lovely sand dunes to roll down. Free carpark. No toilets. Each carpark has a food truck, only 1 was open during this july (post covid). Pretty metallic structure. Great spot for families to spend a relaxing day...

Our favourite beach for every season. One has to drive here by car (did it once by bike, but that was a bit of an ordeal), but because it is further away from the city, it is so nice and quiet here, most of the time. Bring a picnic, because the usually obligatory beach restaurants aren't here (yet). Every time we go to another beach, I'm asking myself...
