Our hotel told us that everyone who visited Parotte Ville raves about it. Somehow it actually exceeded expectations. Highly recommended for the entire family. The owners and their family run the business and have created one of the happiest, most magical places on earth. It’s relaxing and fun to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful and rare birds imaginable. And obviously a labor of love of the owners and their families. Everyone was warm and knowledgeable which enhances the experience. Their joy and love for the birds is contagious. They are knowledgeable were able to answer every question about the birds. Containers of seeds are provided for feeding the birds. The birds are happy, friendly and harmless. If photography is your thing, the beautiful and friendly birds provide endless photo ops.

A museum of historical artefacts and photos is worth seeing. There’s an outdoor shaded play area for children, and tables and a snack bar for refreshments. The smoothies are delicious and perfect on a hot day. The staff is also knowledgeable about Sint Maarten / St. Martin’s native fruit bearing trees and plants, some of which grow there on the property and are labeled.

I can’t say enough good things about Parotte Ville. The only bad thing was having to leave. I don’t live on the island, but if I did I would...

Whether you are visiting Sint Maarten by cruise, staying on the island, or island hopping, this is a must-see attraction for anyone who loves a simple sanctuary loaded with birds. An understated attraction with even more potential. Not only is this a bird sanctuary but it is also a story of a man who made certain that his birds in the park, did not get injured during the hurricane. Instead, he took them in to his home and kept them there for months as he rebuilt. A true kind-hearted soul. ♥♥♥ The entrance fee is nominal, and in return, you'll smile, and experience wonderful wildlife, flying overhead, and interacting with your cup of food. It's a full-bodied experience that should not be missed. Colorful, friendly birds in a sanctuary, well-fed and cared for. Take all the selfies you want and move about, as diferent birds gather all over this fenced area. Perfect for kids, and adults alike. A short distance from the cruise port. If you are staying anywhere on the island it is easily accessible, albeit not on the main road. Use a private driver or a taxi (there are plenty as we found). About 2 hours is plenty. There's also a museum with artifacts from the owner's family sharing the tale of how their life...

We loved Parrot Ville!!!! We visited here last week on a stop from a cruise ship. Taxi was about $7 per person to get there, and was maybe about a 10-15 minute drive from the port. The van taxis at the port can fit 10 people in them at a time. It is in an unlikely place to hail a taxi back to the port, but the woman at the front desk called a taxi for us and was doing that for others as well. The bird seed they give you lasts a long time. The bigger parrots like the sunflower seeds so they will fling the smaller seed out of the way in search for those. Find the shyer parakeets and cockatoos that like the smaller seeds. Don’t wear jewelry, pins, or croc charms because the birds like to pick at them. The birds are really friendly except for the “senior citizen” looking parrot who seemed a little grumpy. The birds are all really beautiful and we loved getting so up close to them. This is an experience that I have not found anywhere else local to us, so it was wonderful. We spent about 2 hours here just walking around, feeding, and talking to the birds. It was pretty affordable too. We paid $44 for 2 adults and 2 kids for admission. Highly...

Be sure to bring cash (euros or USD) and to wear clothes you don’t mind getting bird seed (etc.) all over. The birds will attempt to consume everything on your person, including hats, pins, bags, shoes, and shoe laces. Small children can get easily overwhelmed upon entering the aviary. I recommend using your forearm (as opposed to your hands/fingers) to gently encourage the birds to leave, though the staff can also help to move them along. The birds WILL land on your head/hat and shoulders. You will quickly learn to duck accordingly. A round trip taxi ride from the cruise port cost $30 total (Gerline drove the two of us and then returned as promised 90-minutes later). We spent a little over an hour inside the aviary. There are a few little souvenirs, drinks, and ice cream goodies available for purchase — again, it’s cash only. Ils parlent français et anglais. There are some tables under cover, which was great when it started to rain, but I don’t believe the netting over the aviary would keep guests dry.
