This replica of a 19th century shipwreck house is the best place to watch the stars and photograph the Milky Way in the Netherlands, as it is located in the Boschplaat nature reserve which has almost no light pollution (Bortle class 2). Je kan via de Boschplaat een mooie wandeling maken achter de door de duinen. Dan na het boswachtershuisje over het duin het strand op. Je bent dan bij het drenkelingenhuisje. Je kan het drenkelingenhuis in gaan. Er is een hoge ladder met leuning. Om deze wandeling te volbrengen is het practisch om eten en genoeg water mee te nemen want er is niet direct een strandtent in de buurt. Denk ook aan goede wandelschoenen en eventueel een regenjas.
