We had a nice experience at Streeckerij de Betuwe. Please bring boots or old sneakers because there's a lot of mud, due to the way the trees are planted (in a type of clay, so the taste will be nicer). You also need to wear pants and not shorts. There were 'brandnetels' (a type of weed that burns your skin when you accidentally touch it). I don't know why they're there, hopefully it's for a logical reason, because my son couldn't walk without having these plants touch him. They're everywhere. I really loved the plums more than the cherries. They were way sweeter. I will definitely come back for more. The playground was closed when we were there, for safety measures they said. Which was too bad because there were lots of kids, including my son, who wanted to play and everyone knows that the longer people stay there, the more they buy, so if the kids could've played there, parents would've...
Read moreA perfect place for cherry-picking 🍒 Enjoyed the picking process a lot under zero pressure. I’m very glad to share my awesome experiences. Arrived here on Friday afternoon, and the whole garden was only with a few people (but also heard from friends that the garden would be packed on weekends). So its wise to choose a weekday while you are free. We were provided unlimited time to do the cherry-picking and were charged only 9 euros per kilo. There are parking lots and toilets around the garden. And also a little shop for everyone to bring back some organic marmalade or even homemade wine. Highly recommended for families or a group of friends to come and visit this nicely organized...
Read moreOne short period per year it's cherry season, usually June and July. In the area of the Betuwe there are several cherry farms, where you pick your own cherries straight from the trees. Streeckerij De Betuwe is one of those places. Streeckerij has great service, a lot of parking space, located next to the highway. They have a huge amount of cherry trees, When we were there, the Kordia cherries, one of the sweetest cherry varieties, were in abundance, huge sized, of which the darkest red ones were the sweetest. It was great experience to pick our own fresh cherries, giving much satisfaction. See you next...
