Every once in a while I go here with my family. It's a lovely place for a day out. It doesn't look like much on Google Maps. But the map is outdated and the place is much larger. They have all kinds of objects from history. Inside and outside. From an ancient giant Sloth, mammoth skeletons, and wooly rhinoceros to WWII vehicles out on the terrain. Outside there is so much to see too. Huge dinosaurs, aircrafts, tanks, helicopter, 'stonehenge', Roman style playground, mini golf, even a small pyramid, and much more. During summertime they open up water playgrounds in the park. This is only for children to cool down during hot summers. Everytime we visit, they'll have something new. Sometimes I also see a Historyland train driving around town. I haven't seen anything on the website about it. Maybe they should add some information about this too. Read moreHistoryland is definitely a place worth visiting, whether with kids or adults. The museum is spacious and well-organized – everyone will find something interesting here. For children, there are plenty of attractions, including a train ride and a playground, which make learning about history fun and engaging.
The exhibitions are diverse – they cover periods from the age of dinosaurs all the way to modern military vehicles. That’s a big advantage, as it allows you to follow the development of civilization in a very broad scope.
For me, the most impressive exhibit was the MiG-21M fighter jet. You can climb up a platform and peek inside the cockpit, getting a sense of what it was like to be a pilot. It’s a unique experience that makes this museum stand out from others.
In summary, Historyland combines education with great entertainment. Perfect for families with kids as well as for history or technology...
Read moreA top ranking museum with an outstanding collection of animal and marine fossiles. Most interesting are the realistic and 1 to 1 scale reconstructions of pleistocene mammals along with their skeleton rebuilt next to them. All in cooperation with.well known paleontologists. Even though the expositions are very accessible to children and the gardens are full of adapted attractions, Historyland is certainly not a 'children only' place, but worth visiting for prehistory and paleontology lovers. Don 't forget to visit the huge Southern Mammoth live scale reconstruction in the very last hangar at the far end! The staff were very very kind end extremely helpful in showing us around. Will...
