With Corona we booked a time slot, but it was still busy. Most 'attractions' can accommodate only 1 or 2 families in one go, so there's a lot of waiting around. Even so, I can't see how this place works when unlimited people can come in as space is so limited!
Generally we were very disappointed. Maybe I didn't read the website well, but most things are outside. The activities are contrived to bring in a 'geo' feel. A maze made out of wooden fences; a crime scene to solve where someone walked on clay, walking around on a grid made from letters A to E and numbers 1 to 6. An outdoor playground made of wood.
The thing I enjoyed most was a video clip shown whilst standing on a vibrating floor to emulate a trip to the centre of the Earth. Two families were allowed at once; we waited about 15 / 20 minutes to get in, and ended up sharing the experience with a bunch of teenage boys who shouted at each other until we asked them to quieten down.
My kids of 8 and 10 found Geofort fun, but in fairness I think this is due to my (Dutch) wife's creativity in making the menial activities more interesting. As the girl on the till said - most people find that 3 hours is more than enough time here(!)
Maybe all the decent, interactive, fun, educational stuff I'm reading about on the website / other reviews were closed due to corona. For us, it really was nothing special and certainly not worth the money.
When we booked online we were told that the restaurant was closed due to Corona, but we could buy a "picnic lunch" for 15 euros (each). An entrance fee of 49 Euros for a family of 4 to walk around outside stepping on crates answering environmental questions plus another 60 euros for a cold lunch? Outrageous! (If you have a museum card, you still pay 2.50 each, and it still wouldn't be worth it...)
On the positive side - the...
Read moreI loved the way that when I went in (we went with half of the school for a trip) I immediately needed to go to a tent and have some introduction with someone, he was a bit crazy but a good instructor, we did a lot of workshops like gourmetting vegan meat, I really liked the chicken nuggies, but they were a bit dry so I added 19 liters of curry sauce on them. Another workshop I did was a Minecraft "egghunt" but the eggs were hints to a lock we needed to open. But we did not even need to open Minecraft since all the questions you could just google. We also did a workshop where you need to walk around a terrain and then the GPS of a tablet we got we could draw, my initial plan for drawing something was a Weiner but it ended up looking like a tapeworm. We also went in a maze but we could just crawl under the walls, anyways it was pretty fun, strongly recommend to dig under the place to get in free :) also when U drink bleach how many months do you have left? Just asking...
Read moreAmazing place to visit, especially with kids. There are so many fun activities to undertake here that its a bit overwhelming at first. We bought cheap tickets through SocialDeal for the entry. You can well spend an entire day here, so plan to arrive early. Especially if your kids like Minecraft, they'll enjoy the many Minecraft themed activities here.
Free parking and 2 spots with EV chargers.
The Minecraft workshop costs 5 euro per person extra on top of the normal entry fee and is only so and so. The boy doing the session is enthusiastic, but in the end its about seeing their Minecraft world representing The Netherlands and about 10 minutes where the kids can actually build something that will be discarded again after...
