Blauwe Meer — Attraction in Westerveld

Cool place! It's a big lake with a couple of beaches distributed on the banks. Some of the beaches require a small fee to be paid before you enter. Sadly the only way to buy a ticket is online and they only accept payments from Dutch banks. I couldn't use my card to purchase a ticket. However there are smaller, 'rougher' beaches dotted around that don't require any tickets.

It's a beautiful lake! The route leading to the lake and the surrounding areas are gorgeous. If you like walking or cycling then I highly recommend taking a trip to this lake. Signage regarding the location of the lake from the nearby cycle paths could be a bit clearer as some of the paths suggested are not suitable...

One of the best place you can find in the NL, blue clean and clear water (which is very difficult to find in NL), with a very nice forest surrounding it, you can spend lovely days here. During the weekend entrance is 2.50 euro per day - per person. The weekends during July and August are really crowded. Usually the main beach is a place for families, while the youngest venture into the forest having BBQs and parties with music and all. The water is cold of course off season, you know this is in the open nature, ain't a swimming pool... i cant understand why people give a bad rating because of...

Wij waren hier op maandag 10 augustus vanaf een uur of 10 's ochtends. Jammer dat er voor de entree van €3 per persoon niet veel meer wordt gedaan dan een paar verkeersregelaars op de parkeerplaats zetten. De parkeerplaats is overigens wel groot en met redelijk veel schaduw. Als de parkeerplaats vol staat is het erg krap om tussen de auto's door te rijden, zeker met de mensen die er ook nog langs willen lopen. Er lagen erg veel peuken en ook bierdopjes op het strand. Verder was het wel schoon. Positief punt is ook dat er veel prullenbakken stonden en deze niet bomvol zaten. De toiletten en kiosk waren dicht toen wij aankwamen en waren nog steeds dicht toen wij vertrokken, want dit werd door een ander bedrijf geregeld dan het bedrijf dat de toegang en het parkeren regelde. Iedereen moest dus maar in de bosjes plassen (en wat dan natuurlijk gebeurt: in het water). Verder is het wel erg mooi qua ligging; genoeg schaduwplekjes onder de bomen (sommige helaas wel eiken met processierups) of op het strand en heerlijk water om...
