Boekesteyn country house was built around 1720 for Nicolaes Sautyn, from a powerful Amsterdam merchant family. "Boeke" is old Dutch for beech, therefore its Boekesteyn refers to the many beeches on the estate. Two historic beeches adorn the lawn in front of the estate as additional evidence. During the centuries the real estate was in hands of different merchants families. In 1992 Natuurmonumenten bought Boekesteyn with Brambergen from the pharmaceutical company Solvay-Duphar. Today, the country house of Boekesteyn is rented to the National Postcode Lottery. Around the country house are many lovely walking paths, all though it is quite busy during the weekends. We had a nice walk with our International group on the 1st xmas day 😊

Het is fijn wandelen op dit landgoed met zijn parkbos. Tevens eenvoudig toegang tot de buitenplaats Spanderswoud waar je uren heerlijk kan wandelen op goede wandelpaden. In de herfst en heerlijk gebied om paddestoelen te zoeken

Prachtige wandeling door het park rond de statige buitenplaatsen. Goed begaanbare paden. Voor rolstoelgebruikers zijn sommige paden iets minder geschikt.

Mooi park / bos voor een leuke wandeling. Echt heel groot is het voor mij niet maar wel heel fijn. Wel een bomenpracht in mijn beleving, heb vooral ook grote bomen gezien. Het is daar aan te zien dat het wel een oud park is Natuurmonumenten zit aan de rand van het park. Er is een restaurant waar je kan zitten om op te laden met een hap...
