Heaven on earth. There are numerous walks to the crater rim, with various challenges. None are very easy but ALL are spectacular. Walking up to the rim and return with four hours to wonderful town such as Akaroa for delicious meals and drinks from numerous providers makes this perfect for me. Personal favourite food is griddled fish and chips from the pier. Akaroan Salmon a must have.... Although really enjoyed elephant fish.
