#localtourismnz #russell #paihia #omataestatewinery Fantastic views. Celler tasting $7 includes Port & Vigoner wine. Flight tasting $15 includes 4 wines from Omata Estate. Platters & Wood fired pizza (thin based) are tasty (veg option available). Rose spritzer in summer is light & refreshing. Service is ok esp in summer DON'T except much since they are busy. One thing I learnt which is not on their website, when booking be specific on where or what type of table you want or they will allocate you one. If you want a table inside or for outside tables ask for undercover outside table, picnic table, bean bag table. Picnic mats (your own) are allowed provided people don't mind sitting outside when tables are not available. Bookings are essential on busy day like New Years Day. If you change booking times you might get a seat but loose your preferred seating. Windy on sunny days so keep a jacket handy. Nice place for big groups & families as well. Pickup (return trip) can be arranged a day or two before your booking from Russell (free). **15% Surcharge applies on Public Holidays.

Omata Estate Vineyard & Kitchen On a trip to the Bay of Islands we visited the ‘Omata Estate Vineyard & Kitchen’, Russell, Bay of Islands which is now firmly at the top of our list of the New Zealand Wineries we have had the pleasure to visit on trips from our home in England, to see our family. The wine tasting was great fun and most enjoyable and we decided on the Omata Estate 2022 Rose which was superb. The pizza’s were the best we have ever tasted, the gourmet platters were delicious and the service was excellent. The views over the vines with Russell in the background were stunning. If you are planning to visit the Bay of Islands, be sure to add this excellent venue to your itinerary – it is a fantastic place!

Only Vibes in These Vines 🍇🍷 We visited Omata Estate Vineyard & Kitchen for lunch and had such a lovely experience. Sitting under the marquee at a picnic table, we enjoyed a stunning view over the vineyard—relaxing and chill. We shared two wood-fired pizzas: the Magic Mushroom and the Good Ol’ Chicken Cranberry. Both were delicious, with a crisp thin base, melted stringy cheese, and flavoursome toppings. After lunch, we took a stroll through the vines to soak up the scenery. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the Russell area—great food, lovely setting, and all-around good vibes!
