Amberley Beach Reserve — Attraction in Canterbury

This used to be a fabulous camp ,it no longer is the great place it was .. the toilets are not very clean,, we pulled into a site and had to clean it up before we could get to it, the grass is full of little prickles .no power in the south camp ..price has doubled and we get even less service...the rubbish is emptied every day which is good, but otherwise this camp is now a disgrace..you need a swipe key to get in...which doesn't always work, and talking to casual campers, they said it is a bit of a mission to get the swipe key and get it up and running.. just not the same atmosphere and...

Its a nice calm camping ground. Not to busy. There is a honesty box where to put the money in. 5 Dollars per person unpowerd site. 15 NZD for 2 persons with electricity. Flushing toilets, dump station, drinking water, and there are also small.bins revycling outside in the city. And a smal sink in the toilets. There is also an shower room, but no running water there. You have to bring a solar shower. So good done but why they just did not put a shower there its...

Once one of my favourite spots to camp in the house truck in hurunui, now unfortunately ruined by the penny system and a lack of hot shower options. The south side campsite needs attention paid to the electric systems, it was so much nicer when you could pay a person with cash for this spot.
