Pegasus Beach — Attraction in Canterbury

Great little beach, excellent clean (lockable and private) changing rooms separate from the toilets. Small tap at the back to wash your feet. Sand is nice, not golden, but flat-gradual decline so safe for kids to body board and for less confident swimmers to venture out to jump waves. No rocks to cut yourself on.

Surf lifesaving team very alert watching over everyone over on Jan 2nd (busy New Years period) so I felt quite safe....

Very clean but empty beach. 3 lifeguards stood duty over a pair of wrestling seagulls. Nice toilet facilities and recycling-rubbish bins. Nice sand-dunes and water seemed clean enough. Super quiet for a cool summers day. If you like quiet then this is the place...
