Pleasant Point Domain — Attraction in Canterbury

A good place for a walk, exercise, or cheap camping/accommodation. Park contains camping ground, walking track, kids playground, rugby/cricket/soccer fields, basic tennis courts, and half of the golf course(other half is on the other side of a road). A gravel track circles around the park(under trees), and can continue around the adjoining deer park(track has public access) Both tracks are excellent for walking or running. Camping area has maybe 40 power points. Many water taps scattered about. Majority of parks are under 100+yo massive trees. Practically zero view of sky for TV reception. Facilities are very hi di hi 70s style but very clean and are serviced regularly. Kitchen is well appointed with microwaves stoves.. and more. Toilets are open.. showers and kitchen have ample hot water are by key only. Sites can be paid for and a $20 refundable deposit for the key is at the Pleasant Point dairy. What a hidden gem. Camping in a beautiful redwood forest next to sports fields and golf course. Bike/walk trails, dog (on a lead) friendly. Great value.
