It’s the best that this city has to offer. Just only 20 minutes drive from the CBD you will find this hidden gem of Christchurch. It’s worth the journey for the breathtaking nature and views. There is no public transport to get there so you need to either take Uber from Sumner or city. Parking spots are limited. The trail is easy / moderate even for kids and elderly. From the moment you start you will experience amazing, breathtaking views of the cliffs and beaches surrounding the peninsula. Don’t be scared of sheep wandering around they are more scared of you. If you want to take full loop from parking around the head and back it’s about 10km and takes 2.5-3 hours , otherwise just go for half an hour and turn around when you feel tired. Prepare pack lunch if wanting to enjoy the whole trekking experience. It's a very good place for family, but young kids may find it challenging, so parental helps will be constantly needed.
