The entrance to the wetland may appear modest, but as we wandered through the loops and along the streams, we were struck by its vastness—almost like being surrounded by an inland sea. Unlike our usual preference for sheltered paths beneath leafy canopies, this open landscape offered a refreshing change. Though a little breezy, the walk was thoroughly pleasant. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience a unique side of Christchurch’s terrain.

This is a beautiful place with lots of different tracks to follow and a Lizard garden It is a real shame that there are dog owners out there who don't pick up after their dog, or they do pick it up and then throw it into the vegetation. NOT COOL! Don't be disgusting and take it home. People don't need to see it or walk in it, either do kids. Also, think of the people who maintain the wetlands.

Officially opened a couple of weeks ago. A lot of work being done, will be fantastic to watch the evolution of the area and the wetlands as the plantings mature. Wonderful outside space with easy walking tracks, bridges, and good car parking. A nice place for birdwatching.

Been enjoying this walk. On my own and sometimes walking a dog. Though sadly there are dog owners that are not picking up their dog poo. Since being a dog owners myself it's your responsibility. Yes I understand there is no dog poo bins. Though if you plan to use this walk make sure you pick your dog poo and take it home with you. Have some kindness and respect for other people and children and bike riders that also share ...
