Disappointed and Concerned for Safety
I rarely leave reviews, but this experience really shook me. Before racing, we were shown a clear safety video explaining rules and expectations on the track, including the important point that go-karting is not bumper cars. Unfortunately, those rules were not enforced at all by the track staff.
While we were stationary in the pit lane before the race even began, I was rammed from behind by what looked like a 12-year-old boy, resulting in immediate whiplash. No staff member did anything about it. Then, after the race, I was the first to enter the pit area and was sitting still waiting for instructions, the same boy slammed into me again, causing another bout of whiplash.
What shocked me more than the incidents themselves was the complete lack of action by the staff on the track. This same driver spun out at least 10 times and drove recklessly throughout the race, yet the marshals did nothing to intervene. When I got angry at the end, the staff member defended the child’s behaviour and acted like I was overreacting. It was incredibly frustrating and dismissive.
To be fair, the two women we spoke to afterward were very helpful and understanding, they listened and gave us a full refund, which I appreciate. But that doesn't excuse the on-track staff's total failure to ensure driver safety or uphold the very rules they claim to enforce.
I hope management seriously reconsiders the training (and employment) of the current track staff. Reckless behaviour that causes injuries should never be ignored...

The whole team at Highlands are amazing! From the time we arrived on the first day until the time we left on the third day, we were so well received and looked after. Our grandson's dream WAS to ride in a Lambo, which he did not once, but twice! We also did the Taxi ride in the Porsche TWICE with Jeff, who felt more like a friend than just a driver before we left, so friendly and informative. Spent time on the go karts, and every one was again so helpful and friendly, when we arrived home my grandson was so excited to find he was #14 in the top 100 Proskill via their email, at 12 years old it made him so proud! The museum is a MUST see for all the nostalgia and history, we spent hours looking around and reading. To my surprise taking photos was not an issue, every staff member made us feel so welcome, we went back the next day for the go karts, and on the day before we left it was Harrison's choice to go back again, they remembered us and it truly felt so wonderful. His dream now is to go back and work and drive for Highlands and Tony Quinn. Highland is a remarkable accomplishment and a credit to all involved. Hopefully Hazza 224 as he calls his driving name will be back to meet Tony and drive for him. That would be his next dream come true! Thank you to all the team, and and extra thank you to Jeff, our new friend! Hope to go...
Read moreI had an AWESOME, super fun time here but I have feedback for improvement on the GWD U Skid that I hope can be taken into account! :)
I was interested in learning how to skid the car but because the activity was presented as a "challenge" and not a tutorial, I enquired with staff regarding the suitability of the activity for a complete beginner like me. I was reassured that it's great for a beginner because it's the perfect opportunity to learn it.
But I found that the activity is so rushed for time (you only get 15mins total), that the instructor can only manage a quick demo before drivers are immediately thrown into taking their 1st timed run. There was barely enough time to clarify the steps with the instructor, let alone obtain feedback on my runs.
It would have been SIGNIFICANTLY better if drivers were given at least 1 practice run before the 2 timed runs, so that they can get used to the handling of the car and attempt a skid. Otherwise, drivers aren't being given a fair opportunity to challenge the leaderboards, when they're wasting their 1st run learning to wrangle the car, you know?
There was a general vibe of being shepherded around real quick, in-and-out of one activity to the next, so that they can quickly fill the slot with the next customer because the times offered per activity are just so short and...
