Secret Cove, a secluded nook within Auckland's diverse landscape, offers a unique experience that is both intimate and reflective. While the cove's beauty during sunset is undeniable, it presents a modest offering to its visitors. The small wooden dock serves as a humble vantage point, providing just enough space to witness the day's last light dance upon the water's surface. Though some may find the limited space disappointing, others may appreciate the privacy and exclusivity it affords. Finding the pathway to Secret Cove is indeed a challenge, living up to its moniker as a 'secret'. This elusive trait may deter the casual wanderer, but for the determined explorer, it adds to the allure of the destination. In summary, Secret Cove is not for everyone. It is a place that demands effort and understanding to appreciate its subtle charm. For those seeking a quiet retreat away from popular tourist spots, this cove might just be the perfect sunset sanctuary. However, for visitors looking for ample space and easy access, it may be best to explore other options that Auckland generously offers.

Secret Cove in Devonport is... okay. It's a bit of an adventure to find—barely any signage, just one small marker near the entrance, and then a short, rough dirt path between two fenced houses leading downhill. The beach itself is tiny and not super impressive, but it does have a rope swing and some pretty cool views of the Harbour Bridge, especially at sunset. It’s a decent spot to chill for a bit if you're nearby, but probably not worth going out of your way for.

Nice view on the bridge and sea. We’ve been there at the low tide and part of the wall was visible, pretty interesting, but it was a bit uncomfortable to climb back the stairs. A bit disappointed to see broken glass and rubbish in the sand.

Stunning transition through the cave into the cove, I wouldn’t recommend the kayak as you will want to take pictures when you are in there and the risk of getting wet in the kayak out ways the value of your phone or camera. Take the group boat in my opinion. And not...
