I rated this low sorry, because of the lack of local opportunity to show case this spiritual place. After travelling around the Cape in 1 day, with my heart set on seeing this tree, what a come down there was no sign from the main road to guide the way. I had to drive around to find it. Then was disappointed, there was no seating to sit and enjoy the Mana of the area, heritage and spiritualness of this place. A must-see when touring the East Cape (of NZ) region. Mind-blowingly huge pohutakawa tree. Well described. With re-enacted miniature storeroom besides. Beautifully kept. Easily found. Wander across grassy reserve to beachfront.
