Tolaga Bay Wharf — Attraction in Gisborne

Searched local council website to make sure the wharf was open to walk the length. Only thing we could find was that it was 'due to be open by Feb 2024' so we took the long drive up. Disappointed to find updated signage on site. Wharf is permanently closed from half way. What a magical place. Would have given 5 stars if the area had a coffee cart on site. Local cafes are closed on Mondays (not that I a tourist new that). Also no loo paper. It was great to experience the longest wharf in the southern hemisphere first-hand. It's disappointing that the wharf is deteriorating to the point that it's unsafe past the halfway point.
