This was an awesome experience! Our guide Kevin is an experienced professional and knows its way around llamas and also knows to teach you the 'way of llama'. At first, we had to gain the trust of the llamas. Later on, we could pet and even hug the llamas. Ours were called Lyric and Pegasus. We started at 9.30 am, finished at around 1.00 pm. The route was nice, very scenic, not too difficult but also not too easy. The picnic was nice, the cake tasty, the coffee strong. Apart from the joy of walking around with a furry friend, this tour is also a good opportunity to talk to a real local from Kaikoura. We got the chance to hear first hand how it is to live in NZ and Kaikoura and get perspectives, other touristic ventures won't offer. Of course, the Kaikoura Llama Trekking is littlebit pricey, but it was absolutely worth the money and I will recommend it to everyone that...

Genuinely a unique and top quality experience. Kevin is a great host and we learned about the Llamas themselves, the effects of the 2016 earthquake as well as some general history about the whaling origins of the town.

Walking the Llamas is a joy, I felt very well coached through the initial introduction and gaining their trust as we went. Learning their different personalities and feeling the trust build over the half day trek was a real treat.

The route is fantastic, wonderful views of the coastline, beaches and mountains. Not challenging at all so good for walkers of all levels. Also saw some Fur Seals along the way too, as an added bonus.

Highly recommended and if you get the chance to do it, then book it. You...

Kevin, our llama guide, was the best! On the day of the trek, he was on time to pick us up from the location. He was very informative and shared alot about his llamas. Our llamas (Harry and Archie) that accompanied us for the trek were very obedient, well groomed and fun loving. Kevin shared with us tips on how we can get the llamas to befriend us :) we can tell that the llamas were being treated really well and Kevin really love them. Thank you so much Kevin for this lovely experience. We hope that you will have fun with our fellow Singaporeans in May 😊

10/10 will recommend this half day activity for anyone heading...

We did the 1/2 llama trek, if you’re an animal lover this a must do experience. What an awesome time learning so much about llama, Kaikoura, and enjoying a beautiful summer day walking about. I think llama are so special and spending the morning getting to know and trust our llama walking partners was really amazing. We have a great walk with Kevin, learned a ton (not just about llama but also Kaikoura/NZ), and we also had a nice little brownie treat along the way. I highly recommend the longer tour if you are an animal lover and want to spend enough time getting to know this special creatures. We loved it!

We just finished our half day Kaikoura Llama trek and thought it was excellent. Kevin was an excellent teacher, host and guide. He took us through the whole process on a llama’s thinking and gaining confidence with the Llama which was very insightful and really helped all our trek experience. Kevin is very knowledgeable about the local area and really provided useful insights into the area, geology and views on New Zealand. We really recommend the Lamma trek. It was such a rewarding experience and let us understand about llama and local culture more. Thank you Kevin and the llama family

Highly recommend! Super unique, educational and warm experience trekking with our llama pals Archie & Harry. Kevin was a superb guide! He shared interesting insights, helped us to understand the llamas through their lens and made us feel really comfortable throughout the trek. We could also feel his sincere love for his llamas, which made whole experience really wholesome and heartwarming. Archie & Harry are sweet hearts! The little picnic with muffins, coffee & tea was a lovely mid-way break. Thank you, Kevin, for the unforgettable experience!
