There was a large group when we turned up so we got split off and they went with one tour guide and my bestie and myself went with Cullan. He was awesome! It was raining when we went so we were a bit hesitant and it was cold to start off (recommend warm, quick dry clothing and gumboots for sure, even gloves if its raining as your hands get a bit cold). But Cullan made the experience top notch with all his knowledge and passion for the ngāhere (forest). We explored the native plants and trees including rongoa (Māori medicinal plants). We paid tribute to the kaitiaki before we started our travels up through the hills to the bay view. It was cloudy when we reached the top but we stopped for some kai and a cuppa and by the time we finished the clouds has cleared to reveal Cable Bay. Tino ataaaahua (very beautiful). On our way back down we stopped at the base of a 1700 year old matai tree. Wow. Before we finished up we blasted through the fun track and got all wet and muddy, so much fun! Overall great experience. Totally recommend. Ask for Cullan if you want a passionate, connected guide. We really appreciated the time he spent acknowledging our flora and fauna and his desire to learn Te Reo Māori. Kia kaha Cullan! Thanks cullan and the team at Cable Bay adventure park it was so much...

Friends of ours did this a few years ago, do thought that we would have a go. Booked via GYG and got a fair price.

Upon arrival we was early so was asked to have a wander around or have a drink. So we went to the cafe, we ordered drinks and two sausage rolls as a snack. After 20 mins the sausage rolls hadn't appeared, I wandered into the cafe and asked when we was likely to get them. To find out they were still sitting on the side and not made it into the oven.

So if your looking for food, the service isn't great, sadly this isn't the first time I have heard other having issues.

Our guide took up up the hill in a old mini van, she had plenty of knowledge and explained things to us on the 15min drive up to the top. Everything was very safe and when we was shown the skyline we were given clear instructions as to safety and offered protective glasses, clear or dark, depends on if you want to look cool or not 😁.

The experience was amazing, reaching a speed of over 80kph over some of the most amazing scenery.

It's well worth the money for the experience, but check out my video and see for yourself. However, the video doesn't really give you the true...

This experience was definately a highlight of our trip to the South Island! Have that insect repellent and sunblock handy depending on the wether. Heaps of parking available. We did the 2 1/2 hr quad ride and the sky wire. Our guide was THE MAN!! He had only started in October 2022 and during our tour he shared a wealth of knowledge and history of the area. This was my first time riding a quad and did the little course and my confidence grew in a single lap. Was cool to see the mountain bikers as we were climbing up to the skywire. The Skywire was so much fun! Thats coming from someone who HATES heights. The views were spectaular, unfortunately we were not able see Mt Taranaki. 🫠 We made good time and were able to do the "fun track" and thankfully it had rained the day before, our guide had said the course 4 days prior was nothing but dust, but we got to the course and there were deep puddles everywhere, making it extra fun! After the fun filled experience, we went to the cafe, cafe staff were so friendly, and the food was great value for money and yummy! If you are thinking about checking it out, do it! You will not...

Could easily spend the entire day there with so many things to do. Fantastic for the family with super friendly Eels, alpacas, sheep, and cows, not to mention ducks. Mountain biking, Quads, climbing wall, Skywire (great for even my 8-year-old), paintball, and cafe on site. Had a ball on the Skywire and then with the Eels and animals. Homemade food was delicious. Alpacas were a hoot and the sheep were real characters. Great afternoon covered with one option. The staff are just tremendous. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and super helpful. I stupidly dropped my phone down at the Eels and she graciously geared up, stepped in, and dug my phone out, all while 6 Eels moved around at her feet - ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! Ever so grateful and hands down the most wonderful help (above and beyond) that I have ever received. Thank you for the most wonderful day and for restoring my faith in fantastic customer service which is in short supply these days.
