We came here for my daughters 10th Birthday. had a good time but it could have been Great experience, The foundations are there.
We decided to stay there over night to enjoy the park with out having to drive anywhere afterwards given that we'd be knackered.
here's my honest review
Aventure Course: 12/10 Totally worth it, went in from 2:00 - 16:30, Closes at 5, we left early to check on our rooms.
Accomodation: 5/10
The Party: 4 Adults 3 kids.
We Stay in the following The Lake Side cabin 5/10 2 Adults 1 child. No power inside the room, Share bathroom
Though they had 1 power cord outside attached to the ourdoor lights, which we couldn't disconnect as it was the only light source that we had and to use it would leave teh door open for Mosqiutos.
however if you want to get back to nature the View from the Lake side cabin is AMAZING 12/10 and waking up on a foggy lake is pure magic.
I'd avoid swimming outside the lake as they have a lot of friendly eels.
Hill top Dome Tent: 7/10 2 Adults 2 child Indoor bath room/show and Fridge/ Power Friends stayed here and it was comfy and well lit vs. my dark cabin
Share Kitchen: Ref to photo. 0/10 Id say realistically, if you wanted to cook bring a camping store and sit on the Deck cook and enjoy the amazing view from your accomodation
Shared Bathroomn: ref to Photo. Looked sketchy but was actually really good. water was hotter than the Domes 6/10.
Check in: 3/10 Cons: check in was at 2pm but rooms were not ready till about 5pm, This wasn't an issue for us as 1 of the rooms was ready in the cabin and we went to the play ground and luckily they were changing the lining when we came back. Staff were apologetic
The park was packed so just a case of not enough staff, easy to remedy though looking at the reviews this is common occurance. Opportunity to improve for sure.
Cleaning: Rooms were tidy but I wouldn't say clean, They only came in to change the sheet not much else. When you are paying for a $25 dollar cleaning fee I'd hope for a clean room.
Summary: Would I go again.. I'd easily go to the water park and most likely get an Air BNB close by
If I was to stay, the Lake side dome would be my pick of the bunch for accomodatiion as you get the best view, indoor bathrooms and a power site.
Would I recommend this... actually YES, (dispite the challenges these can be easily fixed in time). From the kids perspective.. They had an amazing time it was safe and they just explore.
Just be prepared for not perfect and bring your own cooking gear or do what we ended up doing and pick up pizza from town.
Its an adventure and shared between a few...
Read moreLakeside Cabin Accommodation - In my personal opinion, this would be the best cabin to book. Obviously, because it is right above the lake and would not be as hot if you were to stay inside one of the orb tents.
Suitable for a group of 4.
Work ons:
Needs a wind protector for windy days / nights. You cannot really enjoy the middle space of the deck if you wanted to cook or chill with everyone.
Would be more helpful to have a visitors information book placed inside the rooms. For example:
Instructions on how to use the BBQ - our one wasn't working with the ignition. However, was clean to cook on 👌🏾
A Park Map - An overview on where the toilets and showers are 🚻 Communal kitchen to wash your cutlery / dishes, where to ditch rubbish (we eventually found their big green bin next to the kitchen sink), and lastly, their emergency evacuation area (where to go). Just some helpful things to know 😊
Positives:
THE BIG FRIDGE! It was huge! Perfect to fit all your kai inside.
BEDS 🛌 Linen was cleeeean 👌🏾Lots of pillows and overall, a very comfortable soft mattress (slept like a baby) 😴 Also, each bed comes with a fluffy blanket to use for the outside lounge seat. So no need to bring your own sleeping gear, unless you want to bring your own pillow 😊
POWER 🔋 They have these cute lights decorated above the cabins so you can see at night. No charging outlets inside the cabins though. BUT can just swap it out with the lights cable to charge your phone (might be best to bring a power bank just in case).
Do we think this cabin was worth $250 a night? Hell yeah! Hopefully, with a few rectifications this cabin will be at its full potential 🌟 Grab a group of friends and enjoy!
Ngā mihi...
Read moreUnfortunately this is not a great review, we have been to adrenaline park a couple of times and thought we'd try out the glamping for my sons birthday we stayed 1night in one of the dome tents for 200dollars and unfortunately our glamping experience wasnt so glamorous. When we walked in to our tent it smelt really musty and moldy, it wasnt an inviting smell, the wall had green and black mold around it and large brown stains right beside the beds, we also had a leak in our dome which saturated the head of the bed so we had to sleep at the other end of it. We also couldn't see out the screen window to enjoy the view because it was so dusty and had been tagged on. The curtains were also hung up by zipties which was very hory looking. On top of that there was no hot water and the solar light wasnt working as i think it had been on allday and used up all its charge so we all had cold showers in the dark under torchlight. The lamp provided in our room also wasnt working. The park is very run down and really needs some attention. The place we went to does not look like the place i saw on the website. To add to the list The grass is overgrown in places, Basketball connect four isnt the one shown on website and the trampoline is ripped to shreds, i think they either need to update their website or update their facilities. I think if this is what we get for the 200 anight it should at least include the obsticle course aswell..This place could be amazing if a bit more TLC...
