Bell Rock — Attraction in North Island

Too windy on the top , check the weather before u go .Also the main road is not good condition, 12-14 km road is very bad, not properly maintained . Bush walk and the hill walks are amazing. Nice view from the top . And once it is too windy it’s gone be too cold too . So get proper cloths , and take enough water too . There is no shops around , there is no network coverage , and not much parking space , and no toilet there . And if ur putting the GPS it will show u the direction : but u need to go further around 2 kilometres then only u can see the sign for the hike .

A return trip to bell rock can be completed easily in 3 hours. The first half is walking through native bush on a clearly defined track, that only has two steep sections, one at the start and one near the end of the bush. A real adventure. From forest to hilltop, there are two distinctly different enviroments. If walking in spring or autumn I'd suggest taking a windproof jacket and thermal pants and top. There are no ammenities, so be prepeared! The views are epic, and the rock itself is worth the walk.
