Great public beach which was so quiet for the size of it!! Probably the best public beach on the lake, the other is a little small, and white sand/pebbles. Has a children's play area and public toilets which are being upgraded this year. Could do with some walks around it though as the only good walks are on the road which despite the traffic being low and slow would be better if there was a path. Also has a public bbq and overnight campervan parking for a limited number of vans.

Great public beach with long gradually sloping swim area. Has changing rooms with showers that appeared to accept payment for hot water. Toilets were backed up when we visited for a Glow Worm tour. Plenty of shade for picnic or grilling. Playground for kids.

Nice quiet spot. Pretty clean. Cool playground. We were here Christmas Day 2017. Nice little bush walk from the where the houses are to another little inlet. You can see glow worms at night on that track.

Only tip, bring some spray on bug spray as the sand flies tend to come out later in the arvo if you ha ginger out...

One of many great lakes/beach's to visit while in Rotorua. The local swimming/diving rock has been a staple for year's, nice shellow swimming spot for families with all the amenities you would want toilets, playground, picnic tables and bbqs. This is also the home base of one of the local waka ama...
