An excellent trip. The falls are exhilarating to look at. And the DOC time estimates on the signage can be trusted! We left our car up at the visitor centre and did a FIVE minutes only walk down to the entrance of the track that leads to the falls. It is on a bend in the road where there is room for two or three cars to park. The walk in to the base of the falls is an easy five minutes. Pretty bush and good footing. The second half is down a stairway which has EXCELLENT, non-slip metal steps. The falls themselves are really something, with two falls next to each other but the only slight let down was the it was hard to even get a photo or video due to the high volume of visitors that day.
I do recommend this spot at least once for visited to Egmont...
