Fensham Reserve — Attraction in North Island

Beautiful reserve close to the city. If you are a nature enthusiast, you will love this place. Tracks are well maintained and marked. Circuit walk will take about 1 hour. But give extra time to enjoy and embrace huge trees. We spotted kereru, falcons and around 10 different varieties of mushrooms(I have never seen many of those varieties) . Lovely reserve with a lot of bush variety in a relatively small stand. I love loop tracks and this is a good one. We started on Cobden Rd and took the track to the right. With a 3 and a 6 year old it took longer than the predicted 1 hour (probably 2 or 2.5) but was achievable and enjoyable for all. Beautiful reserve and loop walk - what an amazing legacy to leave behind. Wear tramping boots as it can get a bit muddy, but its maintained with heaps of boardwalks. Mostly flat with some ups and downs throughout. Picnic spot and toilet half way. Bit longer than an hour loop if you stop to look at...
