Absolutely one of our favorite hikes with amazing views from this walkway! It’s a fairly easy hike, but it will take a few hours to complete the entire circuit from the parking area. After walking about 15 or 20 minutes north on Manghawai Heads Beach, there is an access point to the cliff walkway marked by a large sign, and then it’s a short climb up on well developed trail. Be sure to do the entire trail, and walk down to the rocky beach at the north end to see the Natural Arch. If it is low tide, you can walk back to the parking area along Manghawai Heads Beach, but the north end of the beach is a little rocky, so wear good shoes or boots if you plan to do this part of the trail along the beach.

Alternatively, you can hike (at low tide) all the way north along the beach to the Natural Arch, then climb up to the cliff trail from there to walk back south on the trail to the beach again, then continue south along the beach to get back to the parking area. We did this hike many times when we were staying in the area, and enjoyed it every time! A “must do” and “must see” when you are anywhere...

Awesome walk reasonably level of fitness required but you will be rewarded with amazing views. The walk takes you to the natural Arch rock and then you can choose to walk along the rocks back to Mangawhai heads only on low tide or go back the way you came on the cliff top walk. Good walking shoes required and be careful if you decide to walk along the coast due to loose rocks Very enjoyable walk...

Our walk started from 10 ish from the beach where leads to the entrance of the walkway. We witnessed the differences between low and high tides. Plan your walk before heading here, especially the tides information of the day. Easy well constructed track with a few stairs at the begging and end of the track. Worth to visit again in summer for the...
