Second time to Paekakariki motor camp with a large(30+) male fishing group. This place would be great for a large family get together. We used large lodge at back of property. Fully equipped kitchen, lounge, separate female's and male ablution areas, separate freezer/fridge storage room. Accommodation rooms at backpacker standard, mattress and cover with pillow. Outside balcony with table and chairs, rubbish bins to cover all grades of rubbish. Outside area has plenty of room for children to explore and have fun. You definitely get the standard of area...

The park is quite nice and well-maintained. Driving from the main road for a few minutes and walk for a few steps to the beach - the view is absolutely stunning. No people out there, it is only us. So peaceful. Taking your dogs for a walk is allowed here but don't forget to take care of their poops. On the weekends and official holidays, there will be tram service that runs from the station near the entrance to this...

Motivation for our visit was for our 5 year old to have a controlled environment for her first cycle without training wheels. The section from the tram north was perfect. It's quiet, with enough 'challenge' for a novice and other users of the bike path are considerate and kind.

Traveled from Tawa to use it and do so regularly !

Also great for other folks for a lazy walk or run. Backs onto the beach too, so all...

The horse riding and walking trails are excellent, you can go for miles rarely crossing a bike path. Rolling terrain over stable sand dunes heavily planted in natives and open grassed paddocks. Some patches of light mud after rain on the more heavily used areas but short and easy to avoid. Toilets pretty much everywhere and well sign posted for easy finding. Trails well marked so you stay on the right one.

Lovingly referred to QEII Park by local Kapiti Coasters, this wonderful stretch of parkland & beach ranges from Raumati South in the north to Paekakariki in the south. It is also accessable centrally at McKay's Crossing. My daughter was born in paekak and we've spent many hours here, her in her all-terrain mountain buggy and me dutifully pushing over the undulating dune trail. Great memories πŸ€—πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆπŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸ‘ΆπŸŒ…β€πŸ„πŸ’–
